Howard Kenneth Davis' Obituary
Decatur- Howard Kenneth “Kenny” Davis, 97, of Decatur passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2015 in Moweaqua Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Kenny was born on August 6, 1918 in Moulton, IA the son of Otis and Ella Mae (Randolph) Davis. He was a member of Central Christian Church, Stephen Decatur Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M, and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He was a dedicated and loyal engineer for the Wabash Rail Road and the Norfolk & Western Rail Road for over 39 years. He married Phyllis May Gilliland in June of 1940. She preceded him in death on November 22, 2011.
Surviving are his son, Kenneth E. Davis (Karen) of Decatur; grandchildren, Michael Davis (Tedra) of Urbana; Lori Lyons (David) of Decatur; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son Steven Davis.
Funeral service celebrating Kenny’s life will be 2 PM Thursday, November 12, 2015 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to service in the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Star of Hope Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Central Christian Church.
