Howard L. Kramer's Obituary
Howard L. Kramer, 87, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Howard was born July 6, 1931, in Bloomington, IL, to William Henry and Eda May (Harkrider) Kramer. He married Verna Marie Smith on September 2, 1950, in Decatur, IL. He was a truck driver for Staley Express for many years. Howard enjoyed camping and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Verna; his three children, Susan (Ben) Knapp of Decatur, IL, Henry “Jim” (Paula) Kramer of Harristown, IL and Rick (Maria) Kramer of Niantic, IL; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Roger (Elaine) Kramer of Newark, Ohio; one sister, Delores Ruble of Heath, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Howard Kramer will be 1 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2018, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to “Make a Wish” or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
