Howard "Howdy" P. Hoyland's Obituary
Howard “Howdy” P. Hoyland, 70, of Decatur passed away on Wednesday, December 4th, 2013 in Barnes Jewish Hospital.
Howard was born on October 27, 1943 in Decatur, IL, the son of Howard Paul Hoyland Sr. and Ruth J. (Wylie) Hoyland. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and was retired from ADM as a director of transportation operations . He was a life member AMA, member of the American Legion Post 117, member of the American Quarter Horse Association.  He enjoyed animals, dirt track racing, and trail riding. He married Mary Beth January 20th, 2013 in Decatur, IL.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Beth; his 4 stepchildren (who loved and cherished him, but most of all appreciated and respected how much he loved their mother and how devoted he was to her) 9.5 grandchildren, constant companion Otis the beagle and Spike, the cat.
He was preceded in death by his mother Ruth, father Howard, and best horse Buck.
Graveside services to celebrate Howard’s life will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013 in Fairlawn Cemetery, and will conclude with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to Humane Society.
A memorial gathering will be Friday, January 3, 2014 from 4pm-8pm at the Decatur Hotel and Conference Center. 4191 US-36, Decatur, IL 62522.
