Howard Hadley Sevits' Obituary
DECATUR – Howard Hadley Sevits, 84, of Decatur passed away on October 2 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Howard was born on November 17, 1935 in Missouri, the son of Hershel and Fern Sevits. He married Barbara L. Eddings on August 12, 1955 in Decatur.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Barbara; 5 children; Rick Sevits; Becky Frost; Terri Parker (Rick); David Sevits (Dawn); Diane Chalifoux (Bob); 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and one sister, Faye Perry (Myron).
Howard was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.
Howard loved woodworking and could just about build anything he put his mind to. He had a love for remodeling houses and could turn a dilapidated house into a thing of beauty. He was also an exceptional artist. His paintings are cherished by his family. He also liked gardening.
Howard was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Decatur.
There will be a private memorial at a later date.
