Ida Jane Crowell's Obituary
Ida Jane Crowell, 88, of Bellevue, OH, formerly of Decatur, IL, passed away at 8:45 P.M. on Friday (02-21-2025) in Bellevue Care Center, Bellevue, OH.
Ida was born on November 16, 1936, in Mt. Zion, IL, the daughter of Ernest Varvil and Beulah (Goodbrake) Varvil. She married Robert Alexander McDonald on February 5, 1955, in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death in 2011. She then married Melvin Crowell. He preceded her in death in August of 2024.
Ida attended Temple Baptist Church and Grace Baptist Church in Decatur, IL.
She is survived by her children: David Eugene McDonald and wife Lynda of Elmhurst, IL; Bruce Allen McDonald and wife Chris of Mt. Vernon, IL; Bryan Scott McDonald of Louisiana; Debbie Sue Janosky of Illinois; Brenda Wilson of Steelville, IL; and Jennifer Diane Gibson of Georgia; one brother Larry Varvil of Texas; one sister Arlene of Arizona; fourteen grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, and one sister Eva.
A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday (03-01-2025) at Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
