Irene Brownlee's Obituary
Decatur-Irene Brownlee, 84, of Decatur, passed away 8:45 pm Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services to celebrate Irene’s life will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Cox officiating. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 pm Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at the funeral home. Interment with the “Flight Home” ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Irene was born March 29, 1925 in Decatur, the daughter of Art and Dorothy (Goodpasture) Nash. She married Floyd Parnell, Sr. in Osceola, Arkansas on September 3, 1944 and he preceded her in death. She later married George Brownlee in Reno, Nevada on November 5, 1964 and he also preceded her in death. Irene enjoyed going for rides around the area and eating out.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter; Linda Martinez of Decatur, her son; Floyd (Phyllis) Parnell, Jr. of Decatur, two brothers; Allan (Carolyn) Nash and James (Janet) Nash all of Decatur, three sisters; Anneta Aubert of Decatur, Carol (Paul) Mason of Peoria, and Janet (Richard) Bonds of Lakeland, FL, sister-in-law; Nina Nash, six grandchildren; Leslie Dietz, Robert Dietz, Terry Dietz, James Dietz, Laurie Camfield, and Michelle Parnell, sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, two brothers, and six sisters.
Irene will be deeply missed by her family.
