Irene Futo's Obituary
Irene Futo, 93 of Decatur, passed away at 5:55 am Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services to celebrate Irene’s life will be held at 2 pm Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will be in Florey Cemetery, Long Creek. Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice. Online condolences and memories can be shared at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
Irene was born on November 10, 1924 in Ilk, Hungary, a daughter of István and Mária Kucmog. She had worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, High Flyer as well as F.W. Means. Irene was a wonderful cook and enjoyed being with her family. She married Pal Futo and he passed away in 2002.
Surviving are her son- Frank Futo and his wife Sharon of Decatur, daughter- Dr. Irene Boswell and her husband Ray of Rockford, sister- Erszi Marlok of Hungary, grandchildren- Tammy Reiner, Trudy Lickterman, Thomas Futo, Theresa Futo, Seth Boswell, Abby Boswell and Tim Futo, as well as seven great grandchildren.
Irene was greeted in Heaven by her parents, husband, five sisters, and son Zoltán Futo.
