Irene Louise Jordan's Obituary
Irene Louise Jordan, 93, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in Decatur, IL.
She was born on April 12, 1933, in Salem, IL, to the late Arthur Cowgill and Leona Garrett Williams. She married Thomas Jordan on February 23, 1957. Together, they adopted and raised their only child, Tina Jordan, spoiling her rotten with all the love they had to give.
Irene enjoyed spending her time with Tina baking cookies, reading, going out to eat, and attending service at Northwest Christian Church. She was an avid Cardinals fan and had a wonderful sense of humor. She also had a true servant’s heart, spending her time volunteering whenever she was able.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas in 1989.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Tina; cousin, Kenneth Wrigley; and her loving church family at Northwest Christian Church.
A celebration of Irene’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Northwest Christian Church, with visitation held one hour prior. Following service, she will be laid to rest in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northwest Christian Church. graceland
