Irene Louise King's Obituary
Irene Louise King, 85, of Decatur passed away on February 23, 2017 in Decatur Memorial Hospital, due to complications with pneumonia.
Irene was born on February 1, 1932 in Macon, IL the daughter of Arthur Jennings and Eva B. (Spaulding) Adcock Sr. She married Darrell R. King on September 18, 1953 in Lovington, IL. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1999. She retired as a housekeeper from St. Mary’s Hospital and was a Member of Glad Tidings Church. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She also loved fishing with her husband.
Surviving are her children, Rex King (Cindy) of Decatur; Judy Peak (Doug) of Decatur; Stanley King (Margie) of Winter Haven, FL; grandchildren, Jason, Joshua, and Tony; step-grandchildren, Drew, Nichole, and Melissa; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Patrick; and brother, Arthur Adcock Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six siblings, granddaughter Tareza, and one great-granddaughter, Lily.
Graveside services to celebrate Irene’s life will be 11 AM Saturday, March 4, 2017 in Fairlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 –10:30 AM Saturday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. The family requests casual attire.
