Iris Clements' Obituary
Decatur – Iris Clements, 91, of Decatur, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
Iris was born on July 16, 1934, in Decatur, IL. She married Eldon “Bud” Clements on February 9, 1958, and he preceded her in death on October 21, 2015. She worked at Rand McNally for many years as a proofreader. Iris was a member of South Shores Christian Church and recently attended Antioch Christian Church.
Iris joined her husband Bud in his Judo activities; becoming a brown belt in Judo. She loved reading, baking, putting together puzzles, and playing ship, captain, crew. Iris worked frequently at the church in the Women’s ministry as well as heading the kitchen.
Iris is survived by her brothers: Jerry Queary and Fred Humphrey; and nieces and nephews. While not blood related, Iris had 5 “adopted” grandchildren: Clayton (Morgan) Stock, Austin Stock, Brycen Stock, Jim Stock, and Janice Stock; and special friend, Delene Pulley
Iris was reunited in Heaven with her infant son, Nathan; parents Fred and Mary Queary, Perle and Edythe Humphrey; husband Bud, and brothers: Milton and Bob Queary.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 9:30 am until the service time at 10:30 am, at the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tanglewood Independent Living Center.
