J. Virginia Huggins' Obituary
Forsyth-J. Virginia Huggins, 94, of Forsyth, passed away at 9:00 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2009 at Fair Havens Christian Home with her family by her side.
Services to celebrate Virginia’s life will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Blankenship officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the funeral home. Interment with “Flight Home” Ceremony will be at Graceland Cemetery. Virginia was born January 15, 1915 in Decatur, Illinois the daughter of Clarence E. and Susannah (Harrell) McGuire. She married Neil Huggins in Decatur on April 19, 1936. Virginia retired from Illinois Power Company after forty years of employment. She was member of the Eastern Star for many years. Virginia was a Charter member of Hickory Point Bell Choir, which she helped establish. She loved anything to do with Jesus – attending Bible studies and singing.
She leaves behind several nieces and nephews including; nephews Steve (Maxine) McGuire of Decatur, and Sturgis (Gwen) Nichols of California, David (Darlene) Huggins of Macon, Larry (Lola) Huggins of West Lafayette, Indiana, Donald (Nina) Forrest of Sherman, Jim (Kathy) Forrest of Philo, and Darrel Huggins of Taylorville, nieces Suzanne (Mark) Brooks of California, Helen Clay of Moweaqua, IL, Linda Parks of Decatur, Beverly Collingsworth of Springfield and Sharon (George) Lowry of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers Schuyler, Roscoe, Forrest, and Harrell; two sisters Marjorie and Ruth; two nieces Sandra Grant and Norma Brown.
The family would especially like to thank all the staff at Hickory Point Christian Village and Fair Havens Christian Home for their excellent care and compassion.
