Jack Arnold Gentry's Obituary
Jack Arnold Gentry, 90, of Decatur passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014 in Imboden Creek Living Center.
Private family graveside services will be at a later date in Graceland Cemetery.
Jack was born on June 18, 1923 in Decatur the son of Fred and Lucille (Arnold) Gentry. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked for Caterpillar Manufacturing as an accountant and retired as an assistant treasure for Caterpillar Credit Union. He married Patricia N. Osborne on August 9, 1946 in Decatur. She preceded him in death on July 14, 2003.
Surviving are his sons, Mark A. Gentry (Paula) of Avon, IN; Scott A. Gentry of New Berlin, IL; Timothy L. Gentry (Diane) of Decatur, IL; daughter, Linda Gentry of Decatur, IL; sisters, Shirley L. Thurber (Gerry) of Berea, OH; Avis Hallock of Rockford, IL; grandchildren, Jessica Niebrugge (Tim), Natalie Brookins (Gavin), Phillip Gentry, Donald Davies (Angie), David Sutton, Kyler Gentry, and Cameron Gentry; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter: Cynthia Gentry, three brothers, and one sister.
