Pastor Jack "Steve" Greenwood's Obituary
Pastor Jack “Steve” Greenwood, 71, of Decatur, IL passed away peacefully with his family by his side, September 11, 2019.
Jack was born August 12, 1948 in Decatur, IL, the son of Jack Daniel and Betty (Pundt) Greenwood. He married Doris Lynette “Lynn” Caldwell, January 23, 1967 in California.
Jack was a veteran of the US Army. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Covenant Bible College. Jack loved serving the Lord and ministered at Resurrection Life Church in Decatur. He was a devout worshipper of the Bible and serving his fellow man. He was a member of ICCI, IMA and Decatur Area Christian Ministers Association.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Lynn; children, Rusty Greenwood (Jenny) of Decatur, IL; Jonathan Greenwood (fiancé, Sarah, Weikle) of Decatur, IL; siblings, Danny McCartney of Florida, Lynn V. Greenwood of Arkansas, Tammy Sheets (Mark) of Arkansas; three grandchildren, Lyric, Cooper, and Iliana.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jackie.
Celebration of Life will be 10:00 AM Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Resurrection Life Church, 1085 W. McKinley, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM Friday at Resurrection Life Church. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
