Jack W. James' Obituary
Jack Wesley James crossed the finish line of life January 6th, 2019, in the presence of his wife and companion of 28 years, Bonnie. He was a life long harness horseman only to retire at the age of 84. Buying his first horse, Sailor Kenny, at the age of 16 in Hamilton, Ohio in 1962. While in Ohio he become a Mason in 1955. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie James, David (Kobba) James, Cathy (Ed) Harrell and Jill White (Chris Brown). Step-children Kenny, Rick and Pat Steury. Grandchildren Nathan White, Ally Harrell, Wes Harrell, Lane Harrell, Abigail James, and Morgan. He worked at National Cash Register for 14 years in Dayton, Ohio and retired from Donnelly’s after 25 years. Jack was an avid bowler for Brown’s Auto Sales. He joined the Eagles in 1984, became a lifetime member, and was their treasurer for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his six older siblings. The family will be hosting a memorial service at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Eagles Club 1917 Oak Street, Mattoon. Arrangements are through Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home.
