Hello Bridget, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your parents. So very sad. I have very fond memories of training horses with your father at the fairgrounds. He loved the trotters, not so much the pacers. He was such a kind man and a great horseman. My thoughts and and prayers are with you.Gary Edwards

My parents moved next door to Jack & Shirley in 1973, and over all those years, Jack wasn't just a good neighbor, he was a great friend to all of us. He was always there to help out with anything you needed. I remember when there was a blizzard, and I was afraid to drive to work, Jack took me. Visibility was 0, and Jack had to follow the power lines just to figure out where the road was. He didn't seem scared at all. I was so grateful for that! My favorite memories were going to all the fairs and watching him race his harness horses. Jackie & I would get our racing programs and predict our winners. Of course we picked Jack for the winner of his races, and we cheered the loudest of everyone. I loved hanging out in the little camper that was on the back of his truck. Jackie & I had so much fun playing in it. One time he put us on the harness bike and pulled us around the pasture. He gave us old horse shoes for us to paint and hang (open side up for good luck.) He and my Dad were good friends who went out for their coffee every afternoon. When they each started having health problems, the coffee breaks came to an end, and I know my Dad really missed seeing Jack every day. We will all miss Jack. He was truly a wonderful man who loved his wife and girls more than anything. RIP with your Shirley Ann, Jack.
