Jackie "Jack" McGinnis' Obituary
Jackie L. “Jack” McGinnis, 78, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Fair Havens Christian Home in Decatur.
Jack was born July 14, 1940, in Ina, I’ll. the son of Lawrence and Gladys (Johnson) McGinnis. From 1958 to 1962 he served our country in the United States Airforce. After his military services Jack worked as a Welder for Catepillar in Joliet, Il. until his retirement. On March 27, 2004 he married Alma June Fiddler.
Surviving are his 4 Children; 2 step daughters; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 siblings, and his wife, June.
After retirement Jack started his own lawn mowing business that he continued for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved spending hours hunting, and fishing with his buddy Mikey and grandson Dylan. Jack was an avid John Wayne fan and had quite the large collection of memorabilia.
Jack was very adamant about his wishes to not have any funeral services. He always had but one request and that was to be laid to rest with his beloved wife June.
