Jacqueline Cornthwaite's Obituary
Jacqueline M. Cornthwaite passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017 in her home.
Jacqueline was born on April 13, 1932 in Decatur, IL the daughter of Frederick William and Mary Rebecca (Ross) Krekel. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. She enjoyed both ballroom and square dancing, flower gardening, bird watching, and was an avid reader and puzzle worker. She married Bernard Dean Cornthwaite on March 17, 1951 in Decatur. He preceded her in death on March 10, 2017.
Surviving are her son, Mark Cornthwaite (Marcia) of Clinton; daughter, Lynette Puckett (Joseph) of Moweaqua; grandchildren, Benjamin Cornthwaite (Carolynne) of Harrisburg, PA; Amy Roehrig (Eric) of Heyworth; Nicole Normington of Lexington, KY; Jeremy Puckett of Moweaqua; six great-grandchildren, and a sister, Almeta Malone of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four brothers.
The family would like to thank St. John’s Hospice especially, Bethany for all their care of Jackie.
Service to celebrate Jacqueline’s life will be at 11 AM Friday, August 25, 2017 in Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Decatur. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Thursday and 10-11 AM Friday in the church. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. John’s Hospice or Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church building fund.
