James Arthur Cox's Obituary
James Arthur Cox passed on to his new life on Tuesday, September 18, 2013. He was born to Momie A. and Annie E. Cox in Oak Hill, MO, on Oct. 25, 1924. He lived most of his adult life in Decatur, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WW II and retired from the Norfolk and Western Railroad. He had a great love for fishing and always joked that he was only 29 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, one sister and two brothers.
He is survived by his niece and caregiver, Londa (Lucy) Willenborg and her husband Rick; sister Geneva Henderson; brother and wife Glen and Nancy Cox; nephew Douglas Cox; niece Andrea Cox; three children; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Graveside service to celebrate James’ life will be 12 pm Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
The family would like to give special thanks to Carlinville Rehab and to nurse Kari.
