James L. "Jim" Boose's Obituary
James L. Boose, “Jim”, 75 of Argenta, Illinois passed away peacefully on June 6, 2024, at his son’s home in Winslow, Arizona.
James was born November 30, 1948, in Dixon, IL, the son of James Dale and Mary Jane (Weaver) Boose. He married Tammy Renee (Karr) Boose in 1981. He was a graduate of MacArthur High School, an Army veteran, and retired from Mueller Co. in 2015.
His lifelong curiosity made him a student of the natural world. He enjoyed fishing on Clinton Lake, growing vegetables and herbs, playing guitar and banjo, preserving food, classical mysteries, educational shows and the company of wise people. His most often shared wisdom was to encourage his children to “simplify.”
James was preceded in death by his wife Tammy, his parents, and sister Jane (Boose) Deckard.
Surviving are his daughter Suzanne Boose, daughter Jennifer Groce (Eric), son James Boose, Jr., son Cody Boose (Aubrey), like a son Kevin Hunsicker, and six grandchildren: Alex, Sabrina, Nicholl, Colton, Breanne and Olivia. Before his passing, he had the pleasure of knowing that his first great grandchild would be born later this year.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 20 at 2:00 PM with a memorial service at 3:00 PM at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home in Decatur, IL. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
