James T. Davis' Obituary
Decatur- James T. Davis of Decatur, IL passed away January 21, 2015 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
He was born October 25, 1930 in Mulberry Grove, IL, son of Thomas and Pearl (McFarland) Davis. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in the Korean War. He retired from Caterpillar after 30 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Decatur, life time member of American Legion Post 105, and a member of the Moose Lodge of Decatur.
He is survived by his fiancé Verna Moeller and her children—Karen and John Barnes, Marsha and Steve Senger of Decatur, IL, Kathy and Mark Goddard of Sidney, Australia, and Mark and Pam Moeller of Exeter, NH. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews—Jimmy Thacker and wife Mary, Janice Thacker, Jerry Thacker, and Julie Elam and husband Derek and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Carroll Davis, and sister Darlene Thacker.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Saturday January 24, 2015 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home located at 2091 N. Oakland Ave., Decatur, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday January 23, 2015 from 4pm to 7pm at the same location.
