James Monroe Dunham's Obituary
James Monroe Dunham, 81, of Vandalia, Illinois, formerly of Decatur, passed away November 29, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinois.
James was born in Springfield, Illinois, on August 9, 1943, the son of Millard and Eudorah (Sutton) Dunham. He married Dorothy Dawdy on May 27, 1961, in Springfield, Illinois. They enjoyed over 40 years of married life until her death in 2002. James retired from Mueller Company in Decatur in 2021 after 40 years of service in many roles, including Quality Control Supervisor. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling.
James is survived by his children James Dunham Jr. of Decatur, Andrew (Gina) Dunham of Silverdale, WA, and Kelly Sieberg of Vandalia; grandchildren Gabriel Dunham, Isabella Dunham, Olivia Dunham, Mackenzie Dunham, Marissa Dunham, Joshua Dunham, and Seth Young; great-grandchildren Jeremiah Garrett and Azriel Dunham; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services for James will be held at 11am on Thursday, December 5, at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial in Graceland Cemetery will follow the service. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
