James Fulk's Obituary
Decatur – James A. Fulk, 66, of Decatur, passed away at 5:10 am Friday, April 3, 2009 in his residence.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home followed by services celebrating James life will be held 7:00 pm Monday, April 6, 2009 at the funeral home. James was born on February 15, 1943 in Decatur, the son of James R. and Dorothy (Patient) Fulk. He married Sue Flesch on March 29, 1988 in Decatur. James served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. His passions include golfing, deer hunting, bowling, and landscaping. He retired from Jordan’s Nursery after 25 years of dedicated service.
He leaves behind Sue, two stepsons: Lanny Alexander, Jeff Alexander, both of Decatur, four step-daughters: Rhonda (Kelsie) Keller, Christy Alexander, Angie Cooper, and Becky Alexander, one brother: Kenneth (Jennifer) Fulk of Chesapeake, VA, two sisters: Carolyn (Ronald) Maple of Oakley, and Janet (Richard) Shobe of Urbana, nine grandchildren, including two grandchildren James raised as his own children: Summer (Zach) Vandenburg-Young of Carrollton, Kentucky and Brandon (April) Vandenburg of Decatur, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was reunited in heaven with his parents, one brother: Michael Fulk, and two sisters: Linda Pyles and Debra Fulk, and one grandchild: Zachary Keller.
The family would like to especially thank Dr. Mario Velasco and his staff for the compassion they showed James during his illness.
