James Howard Fulk's Obituary
James “Jim” Howard Fulk, 62, of Decatur, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on June 20th, 2019 at 12:15 PM. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones in his home. He was born May 8, 1957 to Jay T and Eugenia (Traxler) Fulk in Decatur, IL. He was an amazing husband, father, son, grandfather and beloved friend. His faith in Jesus was inspiring to all. He cherished all of his friends and his little special friend, his granddaughter, Jazzy Boo.
Jim’s kind spirit and love for others will be deeply missed. His relationship with the Lord was astonishing and never missed a beat and could never be shaken.
He graduated from Mt. Zion High School in 1976 and worked at Caterpillar until he could no longer work due to his cancer. He loved GT Church, the pastors, and the GT Church family. He loved being an active member in several small groups and he cherished all of the friendships he made along the way.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Jay T. Fulk; mother, Eugenia “Jean” Fulk and brother, Dan Fulk.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Julie Fulk and girls; Destiny Lewis (Brian), Amber Fulk and Jessica Fulk; step-son, Michael Bartschi (Angela); grandchildren, Corbyn, Tucker, Jazlynn and Malachi; sisters, Judy Ford (Dale), Patricia Barnes (Michael), Lois Ketelsen (Terry) plus many other loving family members.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at GT Church, 500 S 27th St., Decatur, IL 62521. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 PM Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at GT Church, 500 S. 27th St., Decatur, IL 62521.
Cremation will follow services.
Memorials: Cancer Care Specialist and to GT Church.
A special thanks to all of his friends and caregivers he met during his courageous battle over the past 5.5 years, including: Dr. Kairouz and Papa’s Chemo Angels: Jenny, Lorie, Shanna and Lorie. A special thank you to Melissa our hospice nurse for her loving care.
