Buddy was a BLESSING!
I met Jim in 2015 when I went to worked for Casey’s and we both moved over to Petrotech. I used to talk to him multiple times a day on the phone. Over the years I found a respect for him that I have for very few people. He reminded me of my own father with his work ethic and his personality. Jim was a great man. The world has lost a wonderful human being. Hauling gas can be stressful and I would start to blow my stack and ol Jim would laugh and say (catch more flies with honey than you do vinegar). He did teach me to slow down have more patience and to be a better person. Last time I saw him we had breakfast together and sat there a few hours and just talked. It was painful to see such a strong man battle his sickness. I didn’t see you much over the last few years but know we was all thinking about you ol Buddy! You left an impression on me I’ll never forget. You was a man’s man and you carried yourself through life like a man should. Rest easy now my friend. I hope one day I see you again.
I was a kid, but I have many memories of Bud at the fairgrounds. He was funny, knew a lot about horses and life. He loved his dog, told many stories, and was always kind to me. He even took me to McDonald’s a couple times. Work ethic indeed! As an adult he provided hay to me, cheap, and wouldn’t let me tip him or Nick. I appreciate the kindness he gave. An exemplary man!
