James Norman Hickman's Obituary
DECATUR- James Norman Hickman, 80 of Decatur, passed away at 7:00 pm Monday, April 5, 2010 in Fair Havens Christian Home.
Jim requested a private family graveside service in Graceland Cemetery with Military Honors by the Macon County Honor Guard. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or Fair Haven Christian Home. Jim was born on February 9, 1930 in Moweaqua, a son of James Russell and Elizabeth (Birley) Hickman. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He married Betty Patton on December 31, 1948 and they had two daughters. Betty passed away on December 24, 1996. Jim married Helen 'Jeannie' Humphrey on May 17, 1967 in Moberley, MO. She passed away on May 22, 2009. Jim and his wife Jeannie managed the Castle William American Legion Post #105 in Decatur for over twenty seven years together.
Surviving are his daughters- Pamela Clapp of Decatur and Patty Highers of Gallatin, TN., four grandchildren- James and wife Misty Clapp of Springfield, Terri Sutton of Decatur, Stephea Highers and Bart and wife Suzanne Highers all of Gallatin, TN., twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Jim was greeted in Heaven by his parents, wife, daughter- Jamie Hickman, granddaughter- Jennifer Clapp, son-in-law- Ron Clapp and step-son David Nave .
