James "Jim" Clifford Flaugher's Obituary
James “Jim” Clifford Flaugher, 65, passed away on November 16, 2023, in Springfield, IL.
Jim was born to Lawrence and Minnie Jo Flaugher on December 2, 1957, in Charleston, WV. He was part of the United States Marine Corps from 1980 to 2000. He went on to get his bachelor's degree in accounting, and master's degree in human resources. When his children were young, he coached their softball and baseball teams. In June of 2010, he published his book: Expressions of Love.
Jim married Lynn Ann Gallivan on December 24, 2011, at Second Church of God in Decatur, IL. Jim enjoyed traveling. He especially liked to go ghost hunting with Lynn. One of their favorite haunts was Alton, IL; famed for being the most haunted small towns in the United States.
Jim enjoyed collecting trains, and all kinds of cards and comic books. He loved spending time with family, most especially, his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife, Lynn (Gallivan) Flaugher; mother, Minnie Jo Flaugher; children, Lindsay (Harold Decker) Stovall; son, Derek (Kaitlyn Crossen) Flaugher; brother, Danny (Lori) Flaugher; sisters, Chris (Doug) Yearta, Sandy Flaugher-Kopp; grandchildren, Chloe Grace, Jack Russell, Jaxon; mother-in-law, Sharon Gallivan; brother-in-law, Rick Gallivan, and many extended family and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Flaugher.
Services will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Second Church of God.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Second Church of God.
