James C. "Jim" Hahn's Obituary
DECATUR- James C. “Jim” Hahn, 98 of Decatur, passed away on October 31, 2018 in St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment with Military Rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to SS James and Patrick Parish. Jim was born on May 7, 1920 in Stringtown, IL a son of Martin and Helena (Zuber) Hahn. He was a WW II Army Veteran where he was apart of the D-Day Invasion. Jim was founding member of the Macon County Honor Guard. Jim was a member of SS James and Patrick Parish, the VFW, the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus and the Caterpillar Retirees Club. He enjoyed woodworking and taking care of his flower garden and working on many projects. He built his own home when he was 80 years old. Jim retired as a machinist for Caterpillar. He married Geneva Marie Huss on April 15, 1947 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Marie. She passed away on March 21, 2010.
Surviving are his children- Scott Hahn and his wife Kathy of Clinton, TN, Faye Valentine and her husband Jim of Chapin, SC and Donna Patton and her husband Tim of Forsyth, grandchildren- Dustin Hahn and wife Mindy, Martin Hahn and wife Lindsay, Josie Reynolds and husband Bobby, Keely McClure and husband Matt, Abby Larson and husband Carl, Amber Patton and wife Hannah, and Ashley Patton, great grandchildren- Carter, Grayson, Emory, Miles, Parker, Mason, Blake, Chloe, Kinley, Audrey and Clara.
Jim was greeted in Heaven by his parents, wife, six brother and four sisters.
