James A Johnson's Obituary
Decatur – James Arthur Johnson, 79, of Iuka, formerly of Decatur, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015 in Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
James was born January 11, 1936, in Decatur, to Ralph Lester and Lois Elizabeth (Graham) Johnson. He married Phyllis J. Brumit on August 11, 2003 in Paducah, KY. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; three children, David (Shana) Johnson of Sullivan, Jerry Johnson of Decatur and Terri (Dave) Dagley of Decatur; one brother, Michael (Betty) Johnson of Decatur; seven grandchildren, Tiffani, Jeremy, Holly, Nikki, Bryan, Timothy and Brittany and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Alice Johnson and Francis Burroughs.
Services to celebrate the life of James A. Johnson will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
