James Dale "Jim" King's Obituary
James Dale "Jim" King, 79, of Forsyth, passed away at 1:39 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at his residence.
He was born on January 31st, 1945, in Olney, Missouri, a son of Eugene King and Mildred (Shelton) King. He married Paulette Ruby Woolley on May 2,1964. They were married for over 60 years.
Jim was a graduate of Argenta High School. He made his living as a sheet metal worker at King-Lar and was a member of Sheet Metal Union Local #218 in Springfield, IL.
Jim is survived by his wife Paulette of Forsyth, IL; children: Monty King and wife Lisa of Boody, IL; Rana McArthur of Decatur, IL; Josh King and wife Kiki of St. Peters, MO, Jamie King of Bloomington-Normal, IL; Mickey King and wife Melinda of Sarasota, FL; Shawna Galloway and husband Scott of Decatur, IL; siblings, Sharon Mathes of Tennessee; Sheila Schmahl and husband Clay of Forsyth, IL; Gary King of Decatur, IL; Nancy Janes and husband Randy of Mt. Zion, IL; nine grandchildren, Lauren Boland, Tyler King, Bailey Watson, Brandon King, Caitlyn Galloway, Sam McArthur, Cameron King, Anna King, and Jonah King; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Donnie King; one sister, Linda Smith; and one grandchild, Zachary Atteberry.
A Graveside service will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Graceland Cemetery Decatur, IL.
