James H. Oyler's Obituary
Cerro Gordo-James H. Oyler, 78, of Cerro Gordo, passed away at 2:35 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
Services to celebrate Jim’s life will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church with Pastor Bill Abbott officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 pm Monday at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery. Jim was born on June 22, 1931 in Decatur, the son of Charles and Lucille (Hanson) Oyler. He married Barbara Danner on July 13, 1952 in Decatur. Jim proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company after 32 years of dedicated service. He loved to golf, fish, camp, and farm. He was known as “Everybody’s Handyman”.
He leaves behind his wife Barbara, two sons: James A (Diana) Oyler of Champaign and Randall L Oyler of Cerro Gordo, one daughter: Kathy (Allen) Kilzer of Decatur, one sister: Millie (Harold) Sills of Decatur, four grandchildren: Jessica, Micah, Joshua, and Parker.
He was reunited in Heaven with his parents and two sisters Jennie Canaday and Nellie K. Oyler.
