James William Snyder's Obituary
Sullivan -James William Snyder, 63, of Sullivan, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.
Memorial services to celebrate Jim's life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
Jim was born January 27, 1948 in Decatur, the son of Harry M. and Edna Rose (Underwood) Snyder. He proudly served his country in U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was previously employed with Firestone retiring after twenty-nine years of service. He enjoyed wood working and gardening. He married Beverly 'Gayle' Kinslow April 12, 1974 in Milmine, Illinois.
He leaves behind Gayle his wife of nearly thirty eight years, son Thomas Snyder and wife Jennifer of Pana, daughter Lora Jo Snyder of Sullivan, grandchildren Hunter Thomas Snyder, Kylee Elaine Briscoe, Bradley Henschen, and Khayman Thomas VanLoon, brothers Joe and wife Nicki of Decatur, Larry and wife Leota of New Lennox, and sisters Christine Reed and husband Dan of Assumption, Debbie Burcham and husband John of Decatur, and Loretta 'Bunny' Norhen of Taylorville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
