James M. Stewart's Obituary
James M. Stewart, Jr., passed away at 8:40 A.M. on Thursday (08-24-2023) in his home.
James was born on August 7, 1946, the son of James McAtte Stewart and Laura Ina Belle (Morrison) Stewart. He married Judith M. Guinnee on March 8, 1966, in Decatur, IL. They were married for 57 years.
James worked for U.P.S.for 25 years retiring in 1994. James served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. He also volunteered for the V.A. and St. Patrick’s School. James followed the St. Teresa Baseball team as a fan. James also did Rock Steady Boxing for several years. He loved camping and was a member of Soy City Campers and was a Chicago White Sox fan.
He is survived by his wife Judy of Decatur, IL; two sons: James M. Stewart, III and wife Pamela of Decatur, IL, and Zachary J. Stewart of Peoria, IL; two daughters: Kara A. Logan husband Thomas of Decatur, IL, and Elizabeth J. Gandy of Decatur, IL.; six brothers: Larry Stewart and wife Joyce of Decatur, IL, David Stewart and wife Louise of Decatur, IL, Michael Stewart and wife Sandy of Dalton City, IL, Jeffery Stewart of Decatur, IL, Daniel Stewart of Decatur, IL, Joseph Stewart and wife Rhonda of Forsyth, IL,; two sisters: Laura Bodine and husband Jack of Decatur, IL, Tammy Harrison husband Brian of Decatur, IL,; and one grandchild Beckham Stewart of Decatur, IL.
James is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Richard.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday (08-29-2023) at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. A private family graveside will be held later. The burial will be at Boiling Springs Cemetery Decatur, IL.

The family would like to give special thanks to the hospice nurses who helped take care of James. Thank you, Mary, Desiree and Keissa. Also special thanks to his personal trainer Debbie.
