James H. Taylor's Obituary
Decatur – James Howard Taylor, 79, of Decatur, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 18, 2015, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
James was born June 12, 1935, in Pulaski, Virginia to Robert Wesley and Laura Jane Taylor. He married Alpha Louise Clark on October 3, 1966, in Chesterfield, South Carolina.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Alpha Taylor of Decatur; two daughters, Ruby Roach of High Point, North Carolina and Mary Smith of Charlotte, North Carolina; two sons, Michael Wayne (Judith Colleen) Taylor of High Point, North Carolina and James Leslie (Josephine) of Decatur; one sister, Mildred Sexton of High Point, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; three great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons; three great-great-grandchildren which include Dillon Hunt of Pembroke, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In honoring James’ wishes, cremation services will be provided by Graceland Crematory. No services are planned at this time. The family would like memorials to be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
