James E. Wood's Obituary
Decatur-James 'Jim' E. Wood, 81 of Decatur passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Sullivan Health Care Center in Sullivan, IL.
As per Jim's wishes cremation rites will be accorded with private interment in Graceland Cemetery. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting his family with these arrangements. Online memories and condolences may be shared with Jim's family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
Jim was born on November 8, 1928 in Ringgold, Kentucky the son of Ferd and Myrtie (Beasley) Wood. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and later was employed as a laborer in the carpentry business. Jim was a devout Christian who enjoyed reading the Bible and doing God's work by helping his neighbors and friends.
Jim is survived by his daughters Teresa Brewer and Diane Campbell both of Ohio; his brother Ferdie Wood of Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
Jim will be reunited in Heaven with his parents, four brothers and seven sisters.
