Jane Marceil Farrell's Obituary
Decatur – Jane Marceil Farrell, 90, of Decatur, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 17, 2019, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Jane was born March 23, 1928, in Pekin, IL, the daughter of Elwood Louis and Margaret Marie (Saylor) Haacke. A member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and Decatur AMBUCS, Jane obtained a bachelor’s degree from Bradley University. She was a homemaker who worked in the finance department at Mercantile Mortgage and most recently as a realtor for Brinkoetter & Associates. An avid Cub fan she enjoyed volunteering for Special Olympics Illinois, loved the Bears, Illini and golf. She especially enjoyed watching her daughter at horse shows, bowling, spending time outdoors as well as being around water (beaches and oceans).
Jane is survived by her daughter, Joanie (Brent) Keyes of Decatur; grandchildren: Gary (Angela) Patrick, Brian (Jenny) Patrick and Brodie Keyes; great-grandchildren: Sean, Kier and Quinne Patrick; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Susan Patrick and brothers: Bussy and Robert Haacke.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be 10 am, Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Special Olympics Illinois Region I.
Jane had a beautiful smile, quick wit and could tell the best stories. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
