Janet Ellen Nicol's Obituary
Janet Ellen Nicol, 82, of Decatur, IL passed away June 14, 2024 at her residence.
Janet was born January 25, 1942 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Martha (Stocks) Fyke II. She married her husband of 28 years, Michael Nicol, in Decatur, IL.
Janet had worked as a nanny for 12 years. She had also served as a secretary for Dr.Chiligiris. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and participated with JOY (senior group) at her church.
Janet enjoyed gardening and working in her yard and was an avid reader.
Surviving are her husband, Michael; children, Sherri Slocumb of Houston, TX, Robert Aldridge of Harristown, IL; brothers, Fred Fyke of Decatur, IL, Joe Fyke of Decatur, IL; grandchildren, Josh, Taylor, Austin, Ashley and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday June 21, 2024 at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10 – 11 AM Friday June 21, 2024 at the church.
Entombment will be at Graceland Cemetery Star of Hope Mausoleum.
Memorials: Tabernacle Baptist Church or Memorial Hospice.
