Janet E. Pope's Obituary
Janet Elaine Pope 62, of Decatur (Formerly of Moweaqua) passed away on Wednesday Oct 26, 2016 in Decatur, IL surrounded by family.
Janet was born on December 2, 1953 in Lincoln Illinois, the daughter of Dorwin Gene Pope Sr. & Hazel (Goodman) Pope. She graduated from Moweaqua High and went on to attend Richland Community College and Parkland College where she received her Nursing degree. Janet was a kind, loving, devoted nurse at St Mary’s Hospital for 32 Years. After leaving St. Mary’s, she devoted herself to selflessly caring for her parents until they passed. Janet was a wonderful person and the life she lived was one of putting others before herself. A true Christian. She was a member of New Life Tabernacle of Macon where she helped serve in Ministry.
A Service to Celebrate Janet’s life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Ginder officiating. Visitation will be Friday, Oct 28, 2016 from 4:00pm -7:00pm at New Life Tabernacle Church located at 285 N Towson in Macon, Il. Burial will be at Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at New Life Tabernacle of Macon.
Surviving are her siblings, Dorwin Gene (Peggy) Pope Jr and Kent (Chris) Pope of Venice Florida, Roger(Tammy) Pope of Mt Zion, James (Nita Susanne) Pope, Carol (John) Childers,
Beverly (Lyndle) Gharst and Brenda (Kevin) Hutton all of Decatur. Special Aunt Sherry(Melvin) Hill of Ramsey. She was Preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Pat Sanders, Gail Green, Eleanor Grady & Pastor Eric & Carol Ginder for all the support and help that they gave Janet during her illness.
