Customers and employees at JoAnn's will certainly miss Janis. My sincere condolences to her family.A customerWanda Crist.
I remember Janis from all her help at JoAnn's fabrics. She was very helpful whenever I had a question. Her knowledge was amazing. She will be missed and remembered fondly. My sincere sympathy to the family. May God hold you in the palm of his hand during this sad time. With condolences, Tonda Atchason Decatur.
I had the pleasure of meeting this lovely lady at Joanne Fabric store. She assisted me many, many times over the years. She was so talented. We would always visit – every time I spoke with her she was working on one thing or another – I was amazed at what she could do with a little fabric and some thread! Always a smile on her face and eager to help me or others standing in line. She will be missed. I'm sure she was an amazing wife and mother. May God comfort you during this difficult time. Kim Moore
Janis was a wonderful seamstress. She made curtains for me. She was also very kind. She helped me replace a coat zipper pull that was broken when I asked for help at JoAnn's Fabrics. May God bless her and her family. B. Dunning

I want to extend my deepest sympathy to all of you in the loss of your Mother and Grandmother. She was a very dear and special lady. I too was one of her Joann's sewing buddies, and was always reaching for her time and talent. This is a great shock, as it hasn't been that long since she took care of my problems, but little did I know she was so sick. God has been blessed getting a very special angel this week, but we feel a great big loss. Prayers for all of you. Susan Kinder
Sorry to family for your loss. She was a great mother and wife and grandmother to your whole family. She will be greatly missed in Joanns and to the sewing world. As mentioned before, she is probably making new robes for those who are there and all of us that will soon be joining them all. Prayers for your family.
i am deeply sorry for the loss of Janis. I was devastated when I learned Sunday of her passing. I am a relatively new sewer and Janis was the one who usually helped me. She was so knowable about the various aspects of sewing, fabric etc. She was also patient with me when I just didn't get what she was saying and had to explain more than once!! I was and am still working on my first quilt and she made me promise to bring it in when I finally got it done…………………….It will be hard to go back into JoAnn's knowing she wont be there. The great news is she has gotten to meet Jesus face to face!! maybe he needed some new clothes and needed Janis to make them……………never know on earth do we???Carol Pritts
Janis was my sewing consultant for many many years, always helping me with challenges and listening to my tough customer stories. She took over many of my customers when I had to pause for a few years. She was always making something for a family member and showed me many of those wonderful projects. I feel like I lost a sister. She was my soul sister in the sewing world. God bless her , we have lost a real special person.Sincerely, Leslie Dunkak
