Je'Taun Trinnette Irons' Obituary
Je’Taun “JeJe” Irons, age 52, was born in Chicago, Illinois to Patricia & Steven Irons Sr. on October 7, 1972, and peacefully passed away on November 20, 2024, surrounded by her loving children. Je’Taun’s legacy is one of compassion, dedication, and unwavering love for her family and community.
Je’Taun began her career in security at the Illinois Power Plant and later served as a Sergeant in security at Millikin University. Always striving for personal and professional growth, she returned to college and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Millikin University. After graduation, she pursued a career in social work, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness and empathy.
Family was at the center of Je’Taun's life, and she found joy in hosting gatherings in her home, bringing loved ones together in warmth and laughter. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with love and happiness.
In her free time, Je’Taun found solace and fulfillment in her passion for gardening and home improvement projects. Her green thumb and creative touch transformed her surroundings into beautiful and welcoming spaces, reflecting her nurturing spirit and attention to detail.
Je’Taun is survived by her children Steven (Shataea) Irons, LaRaven Irons and Torrica Baltimore; sisters Darsonya (Ted) Switzer, Traci (Percy) Jernigan, Stephanie (Andre) Horne and Nicole (Glendale) Turner; grandchildren Ariauna, Journee, Shaquavius, Jacquez, Jacardia, Trevonte, Julian, Sonshyne, Jamiyah and Jayla; great-grandchild Julez; aunts Sandra Robinson and Penny Murray; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, special love Lloyd Baltimore and cousin Jerel Barbee.
Visitation for Je’Taun will be from 5pm to 7pm on Friday, December 6, at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Homegoing service will be at 12pm on Saturday, December 7 at Jasper Street Church of Christ, with visitation one hour before the service. Burial in Graceland Cemetery will follow the service.
