Jean A Duckworth's Obituary
Jean Ann Duckworth, 82, nee Evans passed away at home on Friday, October 20, 2023. Born January 20, 1941, to Raymond and Mildred (Long) Evans. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Russell Larry Duckworth, brother James Evans, and sister-in-law Rosalee Duckworth.
She was a lifelong resident of Decatur, and a long-time employee of Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Jean loved to travel, bake, garden, and scrapbook, but most of all, her family was her pride and joy. She was happiest when hosting holiday and birthday parties, organizing the best all-age Easter egg hunts, and holding annual “Grandma’s Week” for the grandkids. When the house was full, so was her heart.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Jacqui McQuality, James (Rhonda) Duckworth, and Jeffrey (Rita) Duckworth; grandchildren Mitchell (Amanda) Duckworth, Sean Duckworth, Brittany (Trevor) Wilson, Jacoby (Macklin) Andrick, Dr. Kaitlin (Kody) Downes, and Hunter Russell; and 10 great-grandchildren Jack, Luke, and Parker Duckworth, Haven and Kennedy Duckworth, Brooks and Tanner Wilson, Avett and Josie Andrick, and Isla Downes; and brother-in-law Skip (Sue) Duckworth. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Friday, October 27, 2023 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Thursday, October 26, 2023at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
