Jerel Elliot Barbee's Obituary
Jerel was welcomed into eternal life, November 1, 2020, by his grandparents, Aunt Patricia Irons, Aunt Linda Tate, and Cousin LaShonda Tate.
Jerel Elliot Barbee’s beautiful soul and spirit entered this world on February 17, 1989. He was the youngest son of Sandra Robinson and Crawford Barbee.
Jerel was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin. One of Jerel’s favorite things to do was to spend time with his dear mother. Jerel was his mother’s right hand. He always made sure she was safe, protected, and comfortable.
He loved to babysit his nephew and cousins. Jerel also enjoyed playing video games. He loved to listen to music. He was a master griller, football, and basketball fan. He attended Stephen Decatur Middle School and graduated from the Futures Unlimited program. He was a former employee at Akorn Inc. and Macon Resources Inc. He also worked at Pawn King where he was a skilled salesman, due to his friendly demeanor and his inviting and warm presence.
Jerel will be cherished and remembered as loving, caring, giving, humorous, opinionated, and yet non- judgmental. Our dear Jerel could adapt and overcome any situation with his perfect smile. He always offered very smart and intellectual conversations about social issues. Jerel was mindful and selective about those he let in his circle of friends.
Jerel’s loving spirit will forever be cherished by his dear mother Sandra and father Crawford, brother Germaine, sister Danielle, sister Shaunte, nephew Darian, aunt, uncles, the Irons and Tate families and a host of cousins and friends, especially his best friend Johnquil King.
We may never know what you were going through, but your fight is over. “You fought the good fight, and you finished the race in peace.”
I see my brother as a Martyr – “Those who die in the way of Allah don’t speak of them as being dead, but they are alive because their death was in the cause of God.”
When you live in a constant downpour the image of a brighter day seems to fade from ones imagining.
Don't give up hope on an illustrious tomorrow, for the rays of the brightest star are no match for those gloomy clouds, lingering about.
Someday you may even soar high above those cold clouds that make you wish there were no tomorrow.
High above those clouds, dancing with the angels, bliss and merry.
So forget your worries my child. Smile with hope and happiness, for one day you shall be greater than you've ever been, casting aside those clouds that once lingered,
Enjoying the rays of a brighter, glorious day.
