Jeremy David Mathis' Obituary
On Friday, February 5th, 2021, Jeremy David Mathis, 45, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away with his family by his side. Jeremy was born February 25th, 1975 to Michael and Linda Mathis.
Jeremy had a strong passion for education not only in the classroom but as a student of the world. Jeremy’s academic accomplishments were many with a Bachelor’s and two Master’s Degrees while working on his PHD. Jeremy taught English while living in Mexico and was licensed by the State of Arizona to teach High School Spanish. As a student of the World, Jeremy traveled Europe, visited the Canary Islands and lived in Spain, Ecuador and Mexico. Jeremy’s passion for education and understanding the human condition set him apart from the rest.
Jeremy is survived by his father Michael, mother Linda, two brothers, Christopher (Jennifer) and Timothy (Sabrina& Reghan), a niece and nephew Mackenzie and Terrance. Very special friends Manuel Garcia Sanchez, Sue Havener Clegg and Audra Mathis Schulz, Aunt Connie and Uncle Gary all held a very dear place in Jeremy’s heart as his extended family. Those left behind also include many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Jeremy was preceded in death by his Grandparents and faithful companion, his Shih Tzu dog, Xanuc Tenoch. Jeremy, 45 years young, will be greatly missed by all and never forgotten.
