Jerry William Bostek's Obituary
Jerry William Bostek, 78, of Decatur, passed away February 6, 2022 at HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital.
Jerry was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 30, 1943, the son of William and Kay (Konopka) Bostek. He married Debra Christerson in April, 1998. He served proudly in the Civil Air Patrol and later worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad. Jerry was a faithful member of Maranatha Church in Decatur and served on their security team. He was an avid golfer and a proud supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. His cats Ollie and Ruby were a source of great joy for him.
Jerry is survived by his daughter Carrie Bostek of Saginaw, MI; brothers Phillip (Carol) Bostek of South Carolina and Joseph (Fran) Bostek of Michigan; grandchildren Ryan Grancedo, Alexander Duvall, and Trinity Duvall; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Debbie, his parents, and daughter Renea Bostek.
Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home is providing cremation services for Jerry. A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Friday, February 18 at Maranatha Church in Decatur. Visitation will take place one hour before the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
