Jerry Dean Lutz's Obituary
Jerry Dean Lutz, 51, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 7:33 A.M. on Wednesday (06-07-2023) in his home.
He was born on September 7, 1971, in Decatur, IL, the son of Gerald L. Lutz and Dolores E. (Lancaster) Lutz. He married Crystal B. Neeley on March 9, 1999, in Jamaica.
He graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1989 and from Illinois State University in 1993. Jerry worked at MH Equipment for 26 years. Jerry attended Passion Community Church. He was an avid sports fan which included Cardinal baseball and the University of Illinois Football and basketball.
He is survived by his wife Crystal of Decatur, IL; sons: Mason D. Lutz and Adam J. Lutz both of Decatur, IL; parents: Gerald and Dolores Lutz of Decatur, IL; paternal grandmother: Evelyn Rodgers of Taylorville, IL; brother: Chad W. Lutz of Decatur, IL; and niece: Kaitlyn Lutz and (Justin) of Decatur, IL.
Jerry is preceded in death by his Paternal grandfather and his maternal grandparents.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday (06-10-2023) at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home with visitation from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow the service at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL.
