I’m so sorry to hear of Joan’s passing. Having moved to Ky in 1961 the only time we were ever able to see Elwin and Joan were at family reunions. Treasured times. So many years have passed since I’ve seen Joan. I regret not being physically able to make the trip for her celebration. My thoughts are with you all. Ric Petty
Our deepest sympathy to Joan's family. Joan and I worked together for a "season" at Illinois Power in the tax department. Joan was always upbeat and a wonderful kind spirit to be around and work with. Her laughter was always present and no matter what kind of deadlines we were under, her love of life and family was always calming and peaceful. I know she will be missed by everyone. My wife and I would get together with Joan and Elwin at Fillipos in Mt. Zion - those were most enjoyable dinners we still remember some 23 years after moving to Houston. Scott, Todd, and Laura and families…such fond memories I have of how Joan took me under her wing for several summers for many weeks at a time and treated me like one of her own. Later, she was always supportive and affirming to Heidi and I as we started our family and became parents ourselves. We are heartbroken for your loss and will keep you all our thoughts and prayers.
