Joan "Toni" Galka's Obituary
Joan Antoinette “Toni” Galka, 77, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away June 23, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Toni was born in Decatur on January 25, 1948, the daughter of Donald and Barbara (Keyes) Galka. She worked as a supply director for Bachrach’s. She was a faithful member of Ss. James and Patrick Parish. She was passionate about helping people. She loved her family deeply and cared for them with great devotion.
Toni is survived by her children Dawn (Eric) Schuerman of Decatur and Robert (Kristen) Danner of Decatur; brother Chris (Marla) Galka of Decatur; sister Karen (Les) Taylor of Decatur; grandchildren Gabbi, Jessica, Josh, Daniel, Rylie, and Brody; and 6 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Jill Danner, and brother Donnie Galka.
Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home is providing cremation services for Toni. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Thursday, July 10, at St. James Church in Decatur. Visitation will begin one hour before the Mass. Burial in Fairlawn Cemetery will follow the Mass.
