Joanne Lorraine Born, 91, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 5:41 P.M. on Monday (10-13-2025) at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL.
Joanne was born on November 18, 1933, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Coy Edward Gist and Emma (Minikin) Gist. She married Alfred Eugene Born on January 31, 1953, in Decatur, IL. He passed away on December 26, 2017.
Joanne enjoyed the Salvation Army Home League. She was also an avid quilter and loved to cook and bake.
She is survived by her daughter: Rebecca Hefley of Decatur, IL; three grandchildren J. Born (K. Born), J. Born (N. Born) and J. Born; three great grandchildren Emma Mast, Chloe Musick, and Na’Kyla Born.
Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Paula Joanne Fields, great-granddaughter McKinlee Born, and seventeen brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday (10-21-2025) at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service time. A Private family graveside service will follow the funeral at St. Isadore Cemetery in Bethany, IL.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
