Jocelyn (Joy) Link Greive's Obituary
Jocelyn (Joy) Link Greive, 96, of Decatur, passed away at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, at Eastern Star Home, Macon IL.
Joy was born October 23, 1929, in Columbus, OH to parents Raymond Sr. and Anna Link. She married Jerome (Jerry) Greive on August 23, 1952, in Greendale, IN.
She received her bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University in 1951. She worked for the State of Illinois Job Service as a community resource specialist, with a focus on career education. She was an active member of the American Association of University Women (past President), American Business Women's Association, Gardening Club of Decatur, Golden K, League of Women Voters, and Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed traveling, book club, and spending time with friends in bridge club. She was an avid reader, Buckeyes fan, and volunteer. She loved her family and gathering them all together for birthdays and holidays. She lived her life with boundless love, and her kindness, compassion, and generosity were an inspiration to all who knew her. She radiated beauty.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Raymond Link Jr. She is survived by her five daughters, Janice (Dave) Buxton of Normal IL, Julie (Mark) Rotz of Mt. Zion IL, Jerilyn O'Driscoll of Bloomington IL, Jenelle (Jeff) Weaver of Urbana IL, Jill (Erick) Hubbard of Decatur IL, ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A private family memorial will be held. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to The Decatur Public Library or Eastern Star Home Macon.
