Joe R. Reed's Obituary
Decatur- Joe R. Reed, 70, of Decatur, passed away Monday, January 04, 2016 in his residence, with his family at his side.
Joe was born on January 21, 1945 in Decatur, Illinois the son of Jacob and Edith (Thompson) Reed. He worked as a mechanic for the Cab Company for many years. He was an avid hunter, loved his bird club, shooting pool, bowling, and loved his St. Louis Cardinal fan.
Surviving are his wife Delores Reed of Decatur; sons, Joe Bob Reed of Decatur, IL, David Reed of Decatur, Troy (Tonda) Ring of Hannibal, MO, Billy (Tammy) Ring of Harristown, IL, Michael (Ashleigh)Tucker of Decatur, IL, Randy (Julie) Reed of Springfield, MO, Scotty (Tracy) Mclure of Scottsdale, AZ; daughters, December (Sam) McCoy of Decatur, IL, Rhonda (Jeff) Carter of Decatur, IL, Maleeia (Kenny) Lee of Decatur, IL, Kim (Dave) Williams of Decatur, IL, Shelley Turner of Centralia, IL. Taylor Tucker of Decatur, IL, three brothers, four sisters, thirty-three grandchildren, twenty-seven, with three more great-grandchildren on the way, and a host of extended family members, also his faithful canine companion, Bubba.
Joe was preceded in death by his first wife, Lowna, parents, mother in-law, and father-in-law, one son, three grandchildren, three brothers, and three sisters. Funeral service to celebrate Joe’s life will be 4pm Friday, January 8, 2016 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2-4PM Friday, in the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the wishes of the family, C/O Reed Family.
