I work part-time at the YMCA but did not know Joel well. Do know that he was well liked, an outstanding lifeguard and friendly guy. He will be missed.

Joel was an amazing guy who went out of his way to alway help. I enjoyed serving with him in the Navy. We had many great conversations and I will miss him. Fair winds and following seas my friend.
Joel was a great guy and solid friend. He was always there to meet up for a pie… Pizza… And a beer to chat about whatever it was that needed to be discussed. He always cheered me up and always had a positive outlook.We stayed friends throughout the years and often talked or texted in the evenings. Such a great guy. It makes me want to treasure all the time that I have left.

I met Joel in 2001 at Great Lakes Training Command. We were in the same class for Gas Turbine 'C' school. He was always fun to be around. Unfortunately, after school, we lost track of each other. We reconnected a couple years ago. He was a great dude and he'll be missed.
I met Joel through CASA of Macon County. He was my supervisor on one of my cases and was a very compassionate person. His caring and love of the children we advocate for will never be forgotten. God bless you, Joel and may you rest in peace.
